Lauren Brenner, a "Creativeskater", for January/February 2009
By: Elizabeth Hollett Shackett
Lauren Brenner started skating in a Learn-to-Skate program and took her first private lesson with me at age 3. She is now a busy 10-year-old who has developed into a well-rounded student-athlete. Lauren balances a challenging figure skating schedule among other activities like competitive travel soccer and lacrosse along with her schoolwork.
This fifth-grader is often described as small but mighty! A big heart for performing to music and achieving goals supports her petite frame. Our lessons are fast-paced as her dramatic core stimulates an enthusiasm to learn and progress. Although she admits to liking jumps best, it’s fun to coach a youngster who enjoys the character of the music so much.
Lauren has a natural poise and focus on and off the ice. Her parents have undoubtedly given her this foundation but it’s plausible that figure skating and sports have influenced her as well. Point in fact: she is the recipient of the Good Citizen Award at school.
I have choreographed a variety of programs for her ranging from “Anastasia,” “Rootie Tootie,” to “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “Wicked.”
Lauren’s Upcoming Events:
January 2009: Keystone State Games, York, PA
Spring 2009: Intermediate Moves in the Field Test |
